You’ve stumbled upon my website.  My name is Andrew Shears, and yes, I’m a geographer.  My interest in geography and academia is to engage with research, projects and teaching that has a “real-world” applicability to make my community a better and more socially just place.

As you can clearly see, this website has all of the things you’d expect to find on the shamelessly self-promoting personal website of a budding academic scholar.  You can learn more about the research I’ve undertaken, and my dedication to classroom instruction.  You can learn about the volunteer activities that my wife Amy and I serve in our spare time.  You can visit the news page and be kept up-to-date on the latest developments in my career and life.  My curriculum vitae is posted here, too, in case you wanted to shore up any details I might have missed elsewhere.  You can even learn a little bit about my personal life, or find me on the mess of internet that is social networking.

And of course, there is a way to contact me.  If you’ve found your way here, I’d love it if you’d drop me a line.

Thanks for stopping by!

-Andrew Shears
